Examples of statically specific and ideterminate beams
Smrkal, Vojtěch ; Škopán, Miroslav (referee) ; Malášek, Jiří (advisor)
Bachelor thesis is focused on stress and strain calculations of 2D beams, concerning rotation and deflection on partial beams. Calculations are approached using general solution, Castigliano's theorem and stress energy approach. An integral part of the thesis is also a list of quadratic moments, cross-section characteristics and the utilization of Steiner theorem (Parallel axis theorem).
Relationship of force and deformation characteristics to the energy of deformed system
Kupka, Oldřich ; Konvalinka, Jan (referee) ; Horníková, Jana (advisor)
The bachelor´s thesis deals with the description of energy in deformed systems and their use to determine the force acting on the system and displacements caused by forces. In the first part of the thesis there are described the basic types of stresses and how it is possible to determine their strain energy and displacements. After that, strain and potential energy including their complementary components are described. Next part is explanation of the principle of virtual work, Betti's theorem and Maxwell's reciprocity theorem. In the second part of thesis, the first and the second Castigliano´s theorems are derived. Castigliano´s theorems are applied to a statically determinate and indeterminate problems.
Determination of stress resultants in closed frames
Horák, Richard ; Horníková, Jana (referee) ; Vaverka, Jiří (advisor)
The bachelor's thesis deals with the determination of the internal stress resultants (ISR) of planar beams with a closed centerline. The first part of the thesis presents a theoretical basis, which is then applied in the second part to solve three tasks. In the first task, the theory of symmetrical and antimetrical course of ISR is applied to reduce the degree of static indeterminacy of a symmetrical planar beam loaded by a symmetrical and antimetrical force system. In the second task the method of superposition is used to replace the general external load of the beam by symmetrical and antimetrical external loads. The task is further solved in the same way as in the case of the first task. The third task is solved by a general procedure with several options of released structures. Furthermore, the assumption enabling the solution of the stress energy due to the bending moment only is verified. At the end of the third task, the analytically determined values are compared with the values determined by the numerical method using the software ANSYS.
